The Canon of Medicine (By Bu-Ali Sin or
Avicenna)
One of the best examples for modern science
in Iranian old texts is Avicenna's "The Canon of Medicine".
As the standard language of the science was Arabic at the
time of the writing, the book has been written in this
language. "Canon" literally is equal with Law, Principle,
Essential and Fundamental in English, and it seems that
Avicenna's idea for the "Canon or
قانون" is close to the words Principle and
Fundamental. In this page, I'll discuss about the
non-medical aspects of the Canon; the roles in modern
science called Chemistry and Physics. The following listed
keywords are linked to the discussions about the keywords.
The main focus in this page is on The Canon of Medicine.
