Yousof Azizi is a Research Assistant for the Belfer Center's Iran Project at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Prior to coming to Harvard, he was a Research Assistant Intern at the Middle East Institute in Washington, D.C. working on various projects including Iran's relations with regional neighbors like Turkey and Saudi Arabia, Iran's strategic energy policy, and Iran's position vis-a-vis Islamist groups including Al-Qaeda, Hamas, and Hezbollah.
In 2015, Yousof graduated with a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. His primary area of interest was Middle Eastern security and energy policy. Prior to attending the University of Michigan, Yousof served as a Research Fellow for the Energy Committee of Iran's Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology. In addition, he completed his undergraduate internship at the Waste Management Department of the Tehran Nuclear Research Reactor. Yousof is a graduate of Sharif University of Technology in Tehran both in BSc and MSc of chemical engineering.
