Welcome to homepage of Computational Mechanics and Porous Media Lab

In the Computational Mechanics and Porous Media Lab, building on a multidisciplinary education and research experience in theoretical and applied mechanics, biology, poro-mechanics, computational science and engineering, we develop advanced numerical methods to simulate various phenomenon in solid mechanics, geomechanics, biomechanics, biology and additive manufacturing. Our research covers broad areas of computational modeling of the strong discontinuity and weak discontinuity in porous and nonporous materials, such as localization, crack propagation, and shear banding, encompassing a wide spectrum of methodologies ranging from micromechanics to multi-scale simulations.

Our Research is mostly interdisciplinary involving collaboration with a wide variety of engineering and applied science disciplines including mechanics, civil, material science and biology.
